Gujarat diamond baron Savji Dholakiya to gift 600 cars to staff this Diwali

Surat: The ongoing recession and liquidity crisis in the world’s largest diamond cutting and polishing centre in Surat hasn’t dampened the spirit of gifting Diwali bonanza for diamond baron Savji Dholakiya, chairman of Shri Hari Krishna Exports. He will gift 600 cars to the deserving staff including diamond workers on Thursday.

Out of the blue, four workers, including a physically tested female representative have achieved New Delhi where they will be given keys of their new autos by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will later address the workers of Shri Hari Krishna Exports through video conferencing at the occasion sorted out at the organization’s base camp in Varachha on Thursday.

Dholakiya told TOI, “1,500 workers have qualified under the reliability program, of which 600 have settled on autos while 900 will be given settled store endorsements. Out of the blue, representatives will get auto keys and bank endorsements from the hands of PM. Our four representatives including a physically tested little girl are in New Delhi. They will meet PM at his living arrangement at 10am to acknowledge the auto keys. PM will likewise address the workers of Hari Krishna through video conferencing,” included Dholakiya.

He said that the organization will pay near Rs 50 crore worth of motivations to the laborers this year. The organization had begun the ‘faithfulness program’ in 2011. The Surat-based trader had skilled 500 pads, 525 bits of precious stone gems and 200 pads to his workers in 2014 as Diwali reward.

Kajal Sorathia (22), a crippled precious stone organizer is among four workers who will meet PM on Thursday. “I am super eager to meet the PM and acknowledge my auto’s key from him. Our associates in the organization don’t know we are here to meet the PM. They will know just when they will see us with the PM through video conferencing.”
